CELEBRACIÓN DE LA GENTE ….. A COMMUNITY CELEBRATION .....¡Por La Gente Todo! ..... ¡Sin La Gente Nada!

Download the flyer here.

Academia América is celebrating in 2020. We are celebrating two amazing journeys of Social Justice advocacy with and on behalf of La Gente – Immigrants, Chicanas/os, Latinas/os and Communities of Color.

We are celebrating Academia América’s 12 years of work to empower immigrants, providing education programs in citizenship and civic engagement to help them become U.S. citizens “con conciencia social.”

And we are celebrating Mario Compean’s 80th birthday, Academia América’s lead founder. Mario Compean has logged 55 years ofcommunity activism and advocacy for Social Justice for Communities of Color and the working class. The celebration is a fundraising campaign to benefit Academia América, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit founded in 2008.
